ROUSSEN Class Fast Attack Craft for Vehicle Simulator and Virtual Sailor NG. The Roussen class is a seven-strong class of British-designed fast attack missile boats improved and customized for the Hellenic Navy, also known as Super Vita. The class is named after its lead ship, which in turn is named after Lt Nikolaos Roussen, a World War II submarines officer who was killed in the suppression of the Navy mutiny in April 1944. This boat has properties. The ship bears an animated Hellenic Navy flag and carries two rotating radars. The bow and aft flagpoles are animated and they can be lowered or raised with Ctrl-A. This boat carries 4 EXOCET missiles (2 on each side) that can lock on targets and be fired. Just make sure that prior to the missile launch your target ship is in your beam port or starboard, with a relative bearing 65 degrees up to 115 degrees off your bow. You can fire the missiles from the weapons panel or by bringing up the HUD (Shift-H) so that you can hear the lock on sound. The OTO MELARA 76/62 gun is also playable and loaded with real life data (inside the weapon.cfg). Finaly the RAM launcher is also functional. Just point the turret to the target, lock on and shoot. I have not included a panel yet, but I plan to make one in the future.

HS ORMI - TOLMI Patrol Gunboats View File The gunboats HS ORMI (P-230) and HS TOLMI (P-229) are the two "ASHEVILLE" class gunboats (ex USS BEACON/PG-99 and GREEN Bay/PG 101) of the Hellenic Navy. They were originally constructed for the crisis of Cuba. The gunboats were transferred to the Hellenic Navy from the US Navy. The design and construction was oriented to achieve high speed and for that reason the ships are made of aluminum, the superstructure is made of polyester and aluminum frame, achieving a total displacement of approximately 230 TN, while the turbine GENERAL ELECTRIC LM-1500 initially brought, was developing speed of 40 kts. In 1996 the main gas turbine was replaced by two new type main diesel engines MTU 12V 396 TE 94. In 2003 the main 3'' gun 3/50 was replaced by BOFFORS 40mm. SHIP CHARACTERISTICS Maximum length: 50,13 m Maximum width: 7,3 m Maximum draught: 2,5 m Weight: 265 metric tons Maximum speed: 21,5 knots Maximum energy rate with maximum speed : 1287 nm Habitats: 34 persons Main engines: Two MTU Diesel 12V396 TE 94 2X2216 HP Generators: Two IVECO-8210M 22 6V MARELLI- M7B M250, with output 2X100 Kwatt RHIB: One Barracuda 4,2 m, with 25 ΗΡ LEGAL INFORMATION This is a freeware package. 10. A6M2 Zero View File The Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" is a long-range fighter aircraft formerly manufactured by Mitsubishi Aircraft Company, a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy from 1940 to 1945. The Zero is considered to have been the most capable carrier-based fighter in the world when it was introduced early in World War II, combining excellent maneuverability and very long range. In early combat operations, the Zero gained a reputation as a dogfighter, achieving an outstanding kill ratio of 12 to 1, but by mid-1942 a combination of new tactics and the introduction of better equipment enabled Allied pilots to engage the Zero on generally equal terms. During the final phases, it was also adapted for use in kamikaze operations. This plane has elements which contain realistic data and characteristics. Its engine has the specs of a "Sakae 21" engine. The default weapons load contains only guns but inside the Weapons directory you will fibd 2 types of bombs: a 60 kg (2 x underneath wings) and a 250 kg (underneath fuselage) . So you can make your own weapons load configuration by altering the [weapons_num] settings and weapons priority inside the "stores.cfg" file. The plane comes with a sitting japanese pilot and it also contains a functional instruments panel. The panel bears a partial similarity with the real one. It mainly uses default VSF instruments with the addition of 3 user made ones. As a horn it uses a "banzai cry" sound (works well in scripts). Moving parts: Canopy --> slide open/close with Ctrl-C Main Gear --> up/down with G Folding Wings --> fold/unfold with Ctrl-F Arresting Hook --> up/down with Ctrl-D Instruments --> stick, throttle, pedals, gear, flaps EXTRA!!! The vehicle folder contains a "Kamikaze" subfolder. There you can find all the necessary files to create another vehicle for kamikaze missions. It contains a "stores.cfg" file with only the 250 Kg bomb, a modified version of "broken.x" a "vehicle.cfg" with no pilot and MOST IMPORTANTLY a script file named "kamikaze.txt". How to make a kamikaze: a. Create a new vehicle folder inside the "vehicles" directory (you name it as you like i.e. "A6M_Kamikaze"). b. Copy all the content from the A6M2_Zero folder into your new folder. c. Copy the files (minus kamikaze.txt) from Kamikaze subfolder to your new vehicle folder (replace existing). d. Copy "kamikaze.txt" file into the "Vehicle Simulator/scripts" folder. e. Open VSF game and create a new scenario with a surface ship of your choice in the VSF world. f. Add the A6M_Kamikaze plane inside 10 nm radius from the ship (preferably above 3000 feet). g. Load the plane with kamikaze.txt and... choose your viewing point as the plane transforms into a kamikaze suicidal bomber! h. Alternatively you can use the "kamikaze_situation.txt" (copy into situations folder) with HMS_Hood and A6M_Kamikaze vehicles preset. Enjoy! 12. DKM Graf Spee View File Admiral Graf Spee was a Deutschland-class "Panzerschiff" (armored ship), nicknamed a "pocket battleship" by the British, which served with the Kriegsmarine of Nazi Germany during World War II. The two sister-ships of her class, Deutschland and Admiral Scheer, were reclassified as heavy cruisers in 1940. The ship was nominally under the 10,000 long tons (10,000 t) limitation on warship size imposed by the Treaty of Versailles, though with a full load displacement of 16,020 long tons (16,280 t), she significantly exceeded it. Armed with six 28 cm (11 in) guns in two triple gun turrets, Admiral Graf Spee and her sisters were designed to outgun any cruiser fast enough to catch them. Their top speed of 28 knots (52 km/h; 32 mph) left only the few battlecruisers in the Anglo-French navies fast enough and powerful enough to sink them. The boat features an animated Kriegsmarine (WW-II) flag and she is capable of firing both her triple 11 inch gun turrets. You can lower and raise the bow and aft flagpoles with Ctrl-D. Enjoy! 16. HMS Hood View File HMS Hood (pennant number 51) was the last battlecruiser built for the Royal Navy. Commissioned in 1920, she was named after the 18th-century Admiral Samuel Hood. One of four Admiral-class battlecruisers ordered in mid-1916, Hood had design limitations, though her design was revised after the Battle of Jutland and improved while she was under construction. For this reason, she was the only ship of her class to be completed. Despite the appearance of new and more modern ship designs over time, Hood remained the largest and most powerful warship in the world for 20 years after her commissioning, and her prestige was reflected in her nickname, "The Mighty Hood" When war with Germany was declared, Hood was operating in the area around Iceland, and she spent the next several months hunting for German commerce raiders and blockade runners between Iceland and the Norwegian Sea. After a brief overhaul of her propulsion system, she sailed as the flagship of Force H, and participated in the destruction of the French fleet at Mers-el-Kebir. Relieved as flagship of Force H, Hood was dispatched to Scapa Flow, and operated in the area as a convoy escort and later as a defence against a potential German invasion fleet. In May 1941, the battleship Prince of Wales and she were ordered to intercept the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen, which were en route to the Atlantic, where they were to attack convoys. On 24 May 1941, early in the Battle of the Denmark Strait, Hood was struck by several German shells, exploded, and sank within 3 minutes, with the loss of all but three of her crew. Due to her perceived invincibility, the loss affected British morale. The boat features an animated Royal Navy flag and she is capable of firing all her 15 inch guns. A third-generation guided missile frigate of the Oliver Hazard Perry class, she was laid down as Bath Iron Works hull number 388 on 27 September 1982 and launched 23 April 1983. Sponsor at her commissioning there on 10 March 1984 was the same Mrs. Edward B. Tryon who sponsored DD 449 in 1942. Nicholas was designed to provide in-depth protection for military and merchant shipping, amphibious task forces, and underway replenishment groups. Her 453-foot (loa) hull displaces 4,100 tons and her gas turbine power develops 41,000 shp (31,000 kW) for a single screw, giving a top speed of 29 plus knots. This boat has elements. She is panel-ready, meaning that she has an interior but no instruments. The boat features animated hand-rails for helipad. The animation is activated with Ctrl-A. She bears an animated US flag. 22. HMS Rodney View File HMS Rodney (pennant number 29) was one of two Nelson-class battleships built for the Royal Navy in the mid-1920s. The ship was named after Admiral Lord Rodney. The Nelsons were unique in British battleship construction, being the only ships to carry a main armament of 16-inch (406 mm) guns, and the only ones to carry all the main armament forward of the superstructure. As her superstructure was located aft of midships like RN fleet oilers whose names carried the ...'ol' suffix, she was sometimes derisively referred to as "Rodnol". Commissioned in 1927, Rodney served extensively in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean during the Second World War. Rodney played a major role in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941. During and after Operation Torch and the Normandy landings, Rodney participated in several coastal bombardments. In poor condition from extremely heavy use and lack of refits, she was scrapped in 1948.
